COURSE DURATION Apprenticeship Program
PREREQUISITES In order to be eligible to become a risk assessor, lead inspectors shall have: -Completed a minimum of 75 inspections and reinspections as a lead inspector within the two years prior to application as a risk assessor; OR -Have received a written waiver from the Director on the basis of other experience.
ACCREDITING BODY Massachusetts Department of Public Health
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS $325 annual fee
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam, no exam fee
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS -Evaluation Firms must employ a trained Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor who has XRF analyzer training
REFRESHER TRAINING Annual refresher training is required.
RECIPROCITY There are no reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs for the Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor disciplines.
