DISCIPLINE Certified Environmental Lead Inspector Technician
COURSE DURATION 24 hours
PREREQUISITES -Successful completion of an initial training course, approved in accordance with �18.7(e), within the twelve (12) month period prior to submission of the initial application, AND -Successful completion of both written and practicum examinations required by �16.5, AND -High school diploma or GED, AND -Compliance with the medical monitoring requirements specified in �13.13
ACCREDITING BODY Rhode Island Department of Health
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS -$100 annually -$170 late renewal
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES -$35 for each written exam -$35 for each practicum exam
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS No fees required
REFRESHER TRAINING -Documentation of successful completion of the appropriate annual review course specified in �18.7 within the twelve (12) month term of their current valid certification -An expired certification may be reinstated within six (6) months after its expiration date provided that the application includes: -Documentation of successful completion of the appropriate annual review course, specified in �18.7, within twelve (12) months of the date of the reinstatement application, AND -The appropriate late renewal fee specified in �16.6 -An expired certification more than six (6) months beyond its expiration date is not eligible for reinstatement. A new initial application shall be submitted in accordance with �16.2.
RECIPROCITY There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source.
