CA - Lead Certification - Project Monitor

Below are all of the state/federal requirements in California to become a certified Project Monitor professional.

DISCIPLINE Project Monitor
COURSE DURATION Supervision & Project Monitoring (40 hours); or Worker (24 hours) + Supplemental Supervision & Project Monitoring (16 hours); or Certified Industrial Hygienist Course (24 hours)
PREREQUISITES -2 years of experience in lead-related construction or a related field (such as asbestos, the building trades or environmental remediation) conducting health, occupational safety or environmental hazard control.
ACCREDITING BODY California Department of Public Health
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS $75 annually
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam. $230 exam fee for each attempt.
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS $300 every 5 years
REFRESHER TRAINING You must complete at least 7 hours of CDPH-approved lead-related construction Continuing Education every two years, and pay the application fee annually.
RECIPROCITY There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source.

NOTES If you cannot wait until the regularly scheduled exam date, you can take the exam at Cooperative Personnel Service's Sacramento office. The additional cost for this is: $97 to take 1 exam; or $120 to take 2 exams.
