DISCIPLINE Lead Abatement Supervisor for Housing and Public Buildings
COURSE DURATION 40 hours
PREREQUISITES -Applicants must be 18 years or older -At least one year of experience as a lead abatement worker, OR -At least two years of experience in a related field or the construction trades
ACCREDITING BODY New Jersey Department of Health
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS $150 every two years
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam. $70 for each attempt.
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS $2,268 for two years
REFRESHER TRAINING An application for renewal of a permit shall be submitted during the 90 calendar day period prior to or after the permit's expiration date. The DOH will treat an application for renewal as a first-time application if the applicant's previous IRA permit has been expired for more than 90 days
RECIPROCITY There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source.
