RECIPROCITY | There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source. |

NOTES | -For the total of 24 hours needed for initial training, individuals may take an 8-hour lead sampling course plus a 16-hour hazard investigation course, plus XRF manufacturer's training -OR, out-of-state 24 hour lead inspector course plus XRF manufacturer's training -Lead Inspectors may conduct clearances, lead inspections, and lead-free inspections, and may use an XRF analyzer. -Lead Inspectors may not perform hazard screens or risk assessments. |
