CT - Lead Certification - Planner/Project Designer

Below are all of the state/federal requirements in Connecticut to become a certified Planner/Project Designer professional.

DISCIPLINE Planner/Project Designer
COURSE DURATION 56 hours
PREREQUISITES Successfully complete and receive a course completion certificate for a Lead Supervisor training course; AND meet one of the following: Bachelors degree and at least 1 year of experience in a related field; OR A certified industrial hygienist, or be licensed, registered or certified as an engineer, architect or in a related scientific field or be registered as a sanitarian; OR A high school diploma or equivalency and at least 2 years of experience in a related field
ACCREDITING BODY Connecticut Department of Public Health
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS $50 annually
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam. $70 for each attempt.
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS Lead Project Designers must work for a Connecticut licensed Lead Consultant Contractor ($625 annual fee). If you are sole proprietor, you are required to be credentialed both as a Lead Consultant Contractor and hold the Lead Project Designer designation.
REFRESHER TRAINING Annual refresher training and application renewal is required.
RECIPROCITY Connecticut accepts licensing and training from EPA-accredited and EPA-authorized lead programs, however the individual and company must still register with the state of CT.
