DISCIPLINE Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor
COURSE DURATION 40 hours
PREREQUISITES -Bachelors degree and 1 year experience in related field, OR -Associates degree and 2 years experience in a related field, OR -High School/GED and 3 years experience in related field, OR -Certification as an industrial hygienist, professional engineer, registered architect, registered sanitarian, registered environmental health specialist, or registered nurse, AND -Documentation of successful completion of the manufacturer's training course or equivalent for the X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer to be used
ACCREDITING BODY Iowa Department of Public Health
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS $60 annually
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam. Exam fee is $65.
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS Annual firm application, no fee
REFRESHER TRAINING Refresher training must be completed every three years to maintain certification as a lead professional
RECIPROCITY Each applicant for certification who is certified in any of the disciplines specified in this rule in another state may request reciprocal certification. The department shall evaluate the requirements for certification to determine that the requirements for certification in such other state are as protective of health and the environment as the requirements for certification in Iowa.
