DISCIPLINE Lead Risk Assessor
COURSE DURATION 16 hours
PREREQUISITES -1 year exerpeicne as a lead paint inspector, AND -Conducted at least 20 lead-based paint inspections at separate residential units, public buildings, or commercial properties; OR -Conducted at least five lead-based paint inspections and 15 lead dust inspections from at least 15 separate residential units, public buildings, or commercial properties
ACCREDITING BODY Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)
INDIVIDUAL APP REQUIREMENTS $200 every two years
INDIVIDUAL EXAM FEES Third party exam. $35 exam fee
COMPANY APP REQUIREMENTS $250 for two years
REFRESHER TRAINING Refresher training is required every 2 years
RECIPROCITY There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's accrediting body before taking training from an outside source.
